Literature

"We are all formed from what other people give us: first our parents and then other people near us. Literature opens to the infinite this possibility of interaction and thus enriches us infinitely..."

Through the ages most of the teachers impose to their students how to think, what their role as students is, how to behave in the classroom, etc. Thus teachers are forming students as they want or as the society wants.

The only way to liberate students is through literature, they can imagine new worlds, they have the chance to project their ideas, and they are free to express what they feel. Literature gives them the chance to form their own representations of the world, people, and situations and to be more critical. It gives the possibility to be aware of the way that they are formed and it helps them to interact with the people who give them a form. It also enriches their universe in order to develop their own conception of the world. However teachers use literature in order to have guided responses, they do not have the chance to give form to what they are reading because if students have the opportunity to react with what they are reading, they would not be passive and some teachers want to form passive students in order to dominate them.
